When the iPhone 4 was first launched in the summer of 2010, Apple assured a white handset was on the way. However, there was a long postponement followed by a statement in the press: The white iPhone 4, Apple representatives said, had proved “more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected.” Cue months of stillness. Apple exposes the Verizon iPhone 4-in white in the middle of those months of stillness. However in that case that model never happens either.
Base on the report of the reliable source that white iPhone 4 is really coming, and coming soon. Foxconn Technology Group is at work on a white iPhone handset, according to Reuters which quotes sources “familiar and with situation.” Meanwhile, Bloomberg has filed a comparable statement, placing the white iPhone release date in the following few weeks.
“Adding a white model may help spur demand as Apple works on the next generation of its top-selling product. Apple, the world’s largest technology company by market value, isn’t planning to unveil a new iPhone at its June developers’ conference, breaking with its practice in past years, two people familiar with the matter said.” In its place, analyst Mike Abramsky informs Bloomberg, the next iPhone will perhaps land in September.
When a couple of tech blogs published proof photo from two retail outlets the most current white iPhone 4 news reappeared in February. Prior to that, there was an Apple report making an apology for the postponement, and assuring a release date of 2011. Trudy Muller, Apple spokewoman informed Reuters at the time, “We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone again.”
