Windows 8 appears some similar to Windows Phone 7.  Microsoft illustrated the next edition of its operating system at the All Things D conference on an archetype touch-screen tablet with laptops with a keyboard and mouse.

The latest Windows is a lot prettier than its well-known precursor.
