NASA has pronounced that on 2016, the spacecraft will blast off to an asteroid.
They will utilize a robotic arm to resolve samples that can better give details our formation of solar system and how life started.
The assignment, named Origins-Spectral Interpretation-Resource Identification-Security-Regolith Explorer, or OSIRIS-Rex, will be the first U.S. assignment to bring samples from an asteroid back to Earth.
Charlie Bolden, NASA Administrator said, “This is a critical step in meeting the objectives outlined by President Obama to extend our reach beyond low-Earth orbit and explore into deep space.”
