Apple Inc. to Open its First Store in Hong Kong

Apple Inc., the maker of the world’s popular iPads and iPhones, is preparing to open their first branch in Hong Kong this month capturing the surging demand of their products in Mainland China and its neighboring regions.

The Apple Store, located in the International Finance Center Mall in Hong Kong’s Central business and shopping district, will debut this year, according to Carolyn Wu, Apple Spokeswoman based in Beijing, but never mentioned a specific date. Two days ago, Ming Pao Daily reported without mentioning anyone that the two-story Apple store will open its gate on Sept. 4 covering 20,000 square feet.

Airbnb Increases $112 Million for Boosting International Development

Airbnb, the well known marketplace for places, has increased $112 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz DST Global and General Catalyst in order to boost international development.

According to a reliable source, the company is now worth north of $1 billion. It is a huge jump from the $7.2 million Series A it increased in November 2010.  The company as well acknowledged a “significant investment” from Ashton Kutcher only a few months ago.
