Facebook Acquires Parse for $85 Million in Cash and Stock

The social network giant, Facebook, just acquired a new small company again as a part of its aggressive growth.

The company is the cloud service firm, Parse, a provider of developer tools for apps in different mobile platforms. Facebook announced this acquisition and confirmed it in their blog today. According to TechCrunch, the deal was closed at around $85 million in cash and stock.

With this move of Facebook, it is not only focusing from being a social network but a business service provider as well.

Nissan and NYC Introduces Electric Taxis to be Used in the City

To celebrate the Earth Day, Nissan is joining forces with the people of New York City to introduce new environment-friendly cars to be used as taxis in the city that never sleeps. Six cars from Nissan, the Leaf, is going to be the taxi and will be a test program of mayor Michael Bloomberg. His goal is to make the electric taxis the city’s taxi in 2020.

Samsung Caught Hiring People to Bash HTC

Samsung, as one of the leaders in the smartphone market, has been caught red handed in paying people to bash rival smartphone manufacturer HTC.

According to reports, Samsung hired people and paid them to talk bad things over a couple of sites through comments and forums against their Taiwan-based rival. The Fair Trade Commission of Taiwan is now investigating the issue after receiving a lot of complains about these practice of Samsung.

Samsung, however, did not deny the allegations and immediately released a statement of an apology.
