Available online and on store, the 7-inch Nook HD 8gb version is now only $149, while the 16gb version is $179. The bigger models, 9-inch Nook HD+ 15gb version starts at $179 and the 32gb version is now $209.

New Nook HD to be released by Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble is releasing out two latest versions of its Nook tablet with the glossy new hardware and a sharper HD screen. This move is heightening the already intensive competition between tablets, especially now that we are heading into the holiday season.

Previously, Barnes & Noble stated that its new Nook HD will be available in two different sizes. One tablet is a seven-inch screen (diagonally measured) at a price of $199 and another tab is the newest addition, a nine-inch diagonal screen referred as Nook HD+ at a price of $269.

$99 Kobo Touch Taking on the Tablet Competiton this Shopping Season

There is one more $99 touch e-reader becoming a member of the tablet line this holiday shopping time of year. Kobo has introduced its $99 Kobo Touch along with Offers, which is the identical product as a normal $130 Kobo Touch, however the screen displays advertisements when it’s in sleep mode or switched off, plus just what the company strangely describes as “discreet places.”
