The popular social networking site, Facebook, introduced their Home app a month ago. Though it was downloaded by many since it launched, it did not live up in its hype.

The Facebook Home was rated with only two stars in the Google Play store and the Home-preloaded smartphone HTC First exclusively available through AT&T was slashed off to 99 cents from $99. This is something to worry about for a multi-million dollar company.

Facebook Home Hits 500,000 Downloads in Just 5 Days

It would appear that Facebook Home has just surpassed 500k downloads on Google Play since launching on the platform five days ago on April 16. The app’s Google Play listing notes the milestone, and Ben Evans confirmed on Twitter.

Facebook seem to be successful with its Facebook Home software for android platforms. Since it’s launch 5 days ago, April 16, it surpassed the 500k-download milestone on the Google Play listing.

A 17-year old app prodigy just made himself a millionaire by selling his news-reading application, Summly, to Yahoo for $30 million.

SimCity 5 Hits 1.1 Million Sold Copies

Electronic Arts proudly announced that Maxis’ SimCity 5 has sold more than 1.1 million copies in just a short period of time since it released. Despite of the issues regarding its need to be constantly online, and massive requests and criticism for having an offline version of the game, the sales were good and positive.

EA also said that more than half the sold copies of the game were through online and downloaded. This is showing a good sign that players has no problem playing it even if it needs to be always online.

Toyota FJ Cruisers Recalled due to Seat Belt Problems

Toyota announced a huge recall of 310,000 units of their FJ Cruiser SUVs. The recall was due to a seat belt problem. The safety belt could potentially fail depends on how the passenger and the driver positions themselves in the vehicle seats. This could be dangerous especially in sudden brakes or light bumps. Blackberry Z10 Preorder Commences; Company Receives 1 Million Unit Order

Following the unveiled Blackberry Z10, carrier rivals Verizon and AT&T announced that the preorders of the new Blackberry units has began. On the other hand, Blackberry announced that they received a 1-million-unit preorder of the Z10.

The phone maker just revealed that an established partner just ordered 1 million units of the Blackberry 10 phones. In a phone call interview with CNET, the spokeswoman refused to give a name of the said “established partner”. This transaction is said to be the largest single purchase in Blackberry’s history.
